KGSC Junior Oppie Squad

The King George flotilla was set-up in 2019 and is an all-year-round Optimist sailing group for children aged 7-14 from complete beginner to advanced racer.

At the most advanced level, sailors will be training at Main Fleet / RTG level, working on advanced boat handling and focusing on mastering specific race techniques.

At the intermediate level, sailors will be working on introduction to racing and training at Regatta race fleet level.

Training Schedule

• Regular Sunday coaching with half and full day options
• Tuesday evening personal handicap racing in the summer months (May to August)
• Virtual Regatta on-line racing during lockdowns
• Holiday camps in school holidays (Except Christmas break)
